Summary: My family of five was blessed to stay at this absolutely perfect cottage for nine days, surrounded by some the most beautiful countryside in southwestern Bavaria (Allgäu). We were honestly sad to leave, wishing we could have stayed longer. Pictures simply cannot do it justice. Frido and Gebhard are genuinely warm and welcoming, the epitome of true Gastfreundlichkeit! The property is three stories with the rental apartment occupying the entire second floor, 3 good-sized bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and family room. Fair warning - true to the its age, this cozy cottage has ceilings that under 7 feet. For us that only added to its abundant charm. The neighboring home is a small working dairy farm, with 16 cows, which added even more enjoyment to our stay. Our kids played with their kids and the family couldn't have been friendlier. The little village of Stiefenhofen is just down the hill, there's a bakery but no grocery store so we drove about ten minutes to Oberstaufen for food. Also, the property is home to about six very entertaining cats, who are clearly in Heaven just as we were!
